Gunmen, in a daring daytime attack, abducted a first cousin to the Delta State’s Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The victim, 70-year-old Sam Uduaghan,was kidnapped while the governor was receiving the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar who was on a visit to the state, the Vanguard reported.
The Acting IGP was in the state to pick up a delivery of 60 vans, two APCs and other communications equipment donated by the Delta State governor.
According to the report, Uduaghan kept his composure during the meeting despite receiving news of his elderly cousin’s abduction.
Sahara Reporters said the unidentified gunmen nabbed the governor’s cousin after trailing him to his Direct Labour Agency residence.
State Police Command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed the story to the Vanguard.
