Janet Jackson announces new documentary film, Truth

Queen of Pop Janet Jackson may be taking her time with her musical comeback, yet that hasn’t stopped her from re-diving into the world of film.

Instead of acting, though, the 46 year old year old’s latest project sees her executive producing a new documentary filmed christened ‘Truth’.

Set to begin production this Summer, the docu-film will chronicle the the lives of trans and non gendered people around the world and their epic struggle for equality.

Jackson, who is a long-term ally of the LGBT community, and past recipient of GLAAD Media Vanguard Award, is excited to lead this project and will be extensively involved in the production, as well as conducting some of the on-camera interviews.

Chuddy K is “Gaga Crazy” in this video

Nigerian entertainer Chuddy K has released the music video for his club hit “Gaga Crazy”. The video which was directed by AJE Filmworks, was set in the bustling city of Lagos, the perfect location to go gaga crazy in this Lagosian’s opinion.

The video features appearances by Denrele, DJ Sose, Spellz (Producer of “Gaga Crazy”), Vector, Adam (Soundcity), Dotun (Cool FM), Tillaman and many more.

Kayswitch gives brother, D’Banj, a surprise birthday gift

We all love birthday presents and star entertainer, D’Banj, is no different. The “Oliver Twist” singer, who turned a year older on Saturday, thank all his fans for the birthday wish and gush about the present he received from his brother KaySwitch.

So what’s the big gift? Why it’s a new single of course. Kayswitch ‘D Produkt’, already being hailed as a “creative genius in the making”, honoured his big brother on his birthday by releasing his first official single, “Sister Caro”.

A statement said Kayswitch “took D’Banj by surprise with the dedication of his very first release”.

“I came home to find a very warm and emotional welcome by my brother ‘K’,” D’Banj said.

While it is his first solo offering, Kayswitch is not new to the music industry. The budding entertainer has collaborated with other established artists on major hits, including the popular “Over the moon” by Dr. Sid and Wande Coal’s “Who Born the Maga”.

Described as a “perfectionist at his craft”, Kaysmith’s sound is reminiscent of his brother D’Banj’s style – very naughty lyrics delivered over the catchy beat Nigerians are certain to groove to.

D’Banj also features in the track. “Sister Caro” is off Kayswitch’s upcoming mixtape “SCAM- Seriously Conscious About Music 101”.

D’Banj cameos in Kanye West’s “Mercy” video

American rapper Kanye West released his new music video for hit song “Mercy” and Nigerian top entertainer, D’Banj was on it. We think very cool indeed!

West teamed up with artists signed with his GOOD Music record label, including Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz in “Mercy” released earlier this year.

The accompanying music video also features cameos from GOOD Music artists Kid Cudi, Mr Hudson, CyHi the Pryce, Teyana Taylor and D’Banj.

‘Mercy’ is the lead single to be lifted from GOOD Music’s upcoming compilation album Cruel Summer, which is expected to be released later this year.

D’Banj is expected to feature on that album as well. Watch the music video for GOOD Music’s ‘Mercy’

Dice Roll Decides Election in Texas Town

The town of Webster, Texas, is rolling the dice on its newest city council member. Literally.
After Diana Newland and Edward Lapeyre each won 111 votes in a runoff election Saturday and a recount confirmed the result yesterday, Texas election code forced the two to "cast lots." A nearby pair of dice settled the matter: Newland rolled a five, while Lapeyre came up short with a four.

"It seemed odd, but after discussing it [with Lapeyre], we were just ready to get it over with," Newland said, adding that her opponent was gracious about his misfortune. "I could not have gone out and campaigned a third time, and we had already gotten people to come out twice, bless their hearts."
